Liverpool Sefton Hockey Club, is the most successful hockey club in the city of Liverpool. We run 4 men’s and 5 women’s sides, as well as junior, mixed and summer teams. The club social base is Liverpool Cricket Club and our main pitches are at Liverpool College and Archbishop Blanch Church of England High School. We also play at the University of Liverpool Sports Ground (Wyncote). Membership of the club gives access to all the sports and social facilities at Liverpool Cricket Club (tennis, bowls, cricket, squash, rugby, lacrosse), County Cricket matches, the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament and Body and Mind Health Club at no extra cost.
Our women’s 1st team play in the Conference North Division of the Investec Women’s Hockey League while our Men’s 1st team and Women’s 2nd team play in Division 2 West of the North League.
The club coach is former England and GB player and coach Peter Nicholson and he is helped by a team of 6 adult coaches and 3 youth coaches. All teams train at least once per week (on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) and this is supplemented by fitness training in the pre and early season.
There is a full social programme which includes Fantasy Hockey, the Annual May Ball, Halloween Party, Liverpool Treasure Hunt, the 12 Pubs of Christmas etc et c
We are always looking to recruit players of all standards and ages (13-69 years is the current age range of players in our adult teams) to expand the club and to ensure we remain competitive at all levels. We welcome students into the club and currently have many students past and present playing for the teams.
